2. How Does it work?

Unique Cellular Structure

Unlike ordinary polyurethane which features irregular cell shapes that simply compress under weight, the TEMPUR Pressure Relieving Material is composed of billions of visco-elastic spherical shaped, open cells. The cells respond to your body temperature and weight then shift and reorganise their position to mould to the exact contours of your body. The TEMPUR Pressure Relieving Material becomes softer in warmer areas (where your body is making the most contact with the surface) and remains firmer in cooler areas (where less body contact is being made). Imagine a mattress that’s firm where you need it and soft where you want it, giving you a feeling of weightlessness. It’s like having a custom designed mattress.

CLINICALLY TESTED

The TEMPUR Mattress and Pillow have been clinically proven to reduce tossing and turning from an average 100 times during the night, to just 17 times.

The TEMPUR Mattress and Pillow were tested by the Institution for Clinical and Physiological Research at the Lillhagen Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden.

They tested 23,000 patients for a period corresponding to approximately 8 years of clinical and in-home use. The tests concluded that the TEMPUR Mattress offered pressure relief comparable to high-tech hospital beds costing up to 20 times as much as the TEMPUR Mattress. Patients suffered from less pain and experienced greatly enhanced and deeper sleep.
